The Dark Side of Music

Music has made its choice and has chosen the Dark Side. Not only the Grammys, but now even Eurovision gives us annual confirmation of this.

In the most famous singing competition in Europe this year, Bambie Thug certainly made headlines, the Irish singer who decided to bring yet another disgusting performance to the stage, complete with candles and pentacles, invoking demons before the eyes of a – mostly – unaware audience, which continues to confuse all this with a form of entertainment. Instead, it would be enough to pay a little more attention to notice that in many songs demons are mentioned, thanked and venerated, that the settings are all dark and apocalyptic and often recall occult symbolism and that the lyrics, even of apparently innocent little songs, are often blasphemous.

After all Eurovision is nothing more than one of the many stages where, under the guise of music and entertainment, subliminal messages are conveyed. Many Hollywood Big names have been doing this for years, deceiving their fans, too focused on worshiping them to realize it.

If you had never noticed, I’ll just give you a few examples to give you an idea.

Beyoncé

Queen B is also queen of the Dark Side. Between one ritual – oops, I meant – between one dance and another, she delights the audience with obscenities that make you cover your ears. A couple of very delicate songs? Blow, Drunk in love or Denial in which she explains how she uses the pages of the Bible (it disturbs me even to write it). However, every time she wins an award she heartily thanks God. I think she forgets to specify which god… Probably she – or her alter ego Sasha Fierce which she herself has made us aware of – believes she is a divinity given the way she celebrates herself. In her album Renaissance she had herself depicted half-naked as a horseman of the Apocalypse. I wonder if she really read the book of Revelation?! Maybe she should… Maybe we all should.

Lady Gaga

In the song Bloody Mary (“I’ll dance dance dance. With my hands hands hands…”) which until recently was very popular on TikTok, she mocks the crucifixion of Jesus; in Judas she declares herself “in love with Judas”, who for her represents “the demon to cling to”. Her videos and performances are a concentrate of satanic symbolism and reference to black magic. I think she reached the peak of squalor when on stage she had herself vomited on by a woman who sells (sells!) paintings she made with this “technique”. What can I say?! In terms of obscenity she is second only to Madonna, emeritus priestess of black masses disguised as concerts. Without going too far back in time, just look at the disturbing, blasphemous and obscene scenography of her recent Copacabana concert.

Jay-Z

Jay-Z (for friends Hova, as he modestly renamed himself, abbreviating Jehovah, Hebrew name of God), decorates his lyrics with swear words of all kinds, references to drugs, violence and blasphemy, certainly nothing new for American rappers in general. As if that weren’t enough, he carves out free time to insert subliminal messages here and there in songs listened to backwards, as in his track Lucifer 9. To clarify to everyone which side he’s on, at the 2023 Grammys he performed – with other distinguished colleagues – in a performance of God did mocking the Last Supper and referring to his own words as the words of the New Testament.

Doja Cat

Probably among the most explicit of the moment there is her. She really doesn’t hide: she tells you clearly. I don’t know if you had the misfortune to listen to her song Paint the town red. Now, beyond the objective ugliness and obscenity of the lyrics, let’s talk about the video: demons, demons everywhere. To be absolutely certain that no one missed the message, she also got one tattooed on her arm. But – obviously – it’s just art…

Rihanna

In this sea of darkness, the much acclaimed RiRi certainly could not be missing. Her videos are riddled with occult subliminal messages (pyramids, serpents, all-seeing eye, evil deities, goat heads and all these nice things here). And not now, but already since the “innocent” song Umbrella. At the last Super Bowl where she was a guest, rising above everyone, she “blessed” the audience with the triangle gesture, a gesture that has much to do with occultism. In short, just like the others, hers is not entertainment, but indoctrination. She was the one who said, laughing, in an interview that she worshiped the devil. Was she being funny?! Who knows…

Sam Smith

What happened to the clean-faced boy who sang I’m not the only one?! I don’t know, but one thing is certain: that boy is no longer there. Now, in his place, there is a guy who performs half-naked at concerts where teenagers also go and who at his concerts does nothing but simulate obscenity and sexual gestures on stage. A guy who – apparently – has an unbridled passion for horned hats and pitchforks; who at the 2023 Grammys with his Unholy staged a kind of Mephistophelian rite on national television. A guy whose goal is to impose his indecency on us.

The Weeknd

Not many words are needed for him. Just watch his concerts, when, between one hooded dancer and another, the giant word “satan” appears on the screen, projected in front of everyone. Why do you think he does it? Think about it carefully. Not that the videos are any less, on the contrary… Very explicit is the one for the famous Can’t feel my face in which the performer performing on stage is not considered by the audience, until a gentleman with a disturbing face sitting in the front row throws a lit lighter at him, setting him on fire. At that moment the artist, completely engulfed in flames, finally captures everyone’s attention and therefore success. Well, my girls, clearer than this?

Taylor Swift

Yes, I know you probably love her and woe to anyone who touches her because she is really your undisputed idol and you think she is the best human being in the world. In the past I listened to her too. However, if you didn’t see behind the snake of the Reputation Stadium Tour something that went beyond her feud with Ms Kim, then you should do a more in-depth reflection and maybe go watch the video of Karma, where she hides her angelic face behind a demon mask. Remember that when you see a snake in videos, it’s never by chance. Never! Too bad: at the beginning of her career she mentioned Jesus in her lyrics, now instead she mocks him (e.g. Guilty as Sin).

Justin Timberlake

Have you seen the new video No Angels? Nothing more to add, Your Honor.

I could continue with almost all the musicians at the top of the international charts like Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, Katy Perry, Travis Scott, Ice Spice, Lil Uzi Vert, Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, Arcangel and many (very many) others, including Italians. Unfortunately, even here in Italy music is becoming more “dark”. But to realize it, it is necessary that you want to start seeing…
